Stephanie Pabon

Personnel Director, City of Paterson

Stephanie Pabon was born in Hempstead, New York, and raised in Perth Amboy, NJ. In 2014, she graduated from the Academy for Urban Leadership Charter School and Rutgers University Upward Bound Program. She later obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Kean University, New Jersey’s first urban research university.

In 2016, Mrs. Pabon was recognized by the National Puerto Rican Day Parade of New York as a National Scholarship Recipient. She competed with over 1,000 students nationwide for the scholarship opportunity.

In 2021, Mayor Andre Sayegh of Paterson, NJ, appointed Mrs. Pabon as the Personnel Director for the third-largest municipality in the state. Making her the youngest individual to ascend the aforementioned position in Paterson history, at age 25!

Her employment history includes the City of Perth Amboy, Township of Old Bridge, and the City of Paterson. Her roles in local government focus on personnel and public policy. She is a key factor in establishing inclusion, equity, and justice in municipal government.

Today she is pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Felician University. Stephanie Pabon is a prime example that upward-bound education works, Charter school education empowers, and urban universities build leaders.
