Ariana Moure

Executive Director, New Jersey Puerto Rico Commission

Arianna Mouré is the first Executive Director of the New Jersey Puerto Rico Commission. She brings a distinguished background to our team, transitioning from an impactful 8-year tenure in the private sector, where she excelled in the practice of law. With a wealth of experience representing diverse clients ranging from municipalities and school boards to business owners, Arianna has proven herself as a seasoned advisor and leader. In her previous role as corporation counsel and labor counsel for municipalities, Arianna demonstrated her expertise by advising the Mayor, Council, and department heads on legal, regulatory, and compliance issues. Her responsibilities encompassed various areas of the law, including labor and employment law, as well as commercial and employment litigation.

Adept at proposing resolutions and recommendations, Arianna tackled complex issues in operational planning, human resources, financial matters, advocacy, community relations, and risk management.

Arianna's journey began during law school, where she obtained certification in healthcare compliance and interned with Bristol-Myers Squibb in their Employment Law and Privacy Law Group. Her commitment to public service was evident through externships in state and federal courts and a legislative office in New Jersey. Following law school, she clerked for the Monmouth County Assignment Judge, handling civil, criminal, and family law matters.

Her dedication to community service and disaster relief became evident as she led a committee for the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey (HBA-NJ), providing aid and resources to those affected by Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and New Jersey by providing essential supplies and free legal assistance. Appointed to the New Jersey Puerto Rico Commission, Arianna remains dedicated to supporting Puerto Rico's recovery, drawing inspiration from her familial ties and deep roots in the region. She envisions advancing bilateral trade and investment, addressing legal and policy issues of mutual interest, and fostering exchanges between New Jersey and Puerto Rico.

Arianna holds a Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Criminal Justice from Rutgers University—New Brunswick.

She is also a court-certified mediator with native fluency in Spanish. Arianna also passionately contributes to her community by volunteering for non-profit organizations in her free time.

In her leadership roles with organizations such as the Vice President of LUPE Fund Inc. and the Membership Secretary of HBA-NJ, Arianna remains dedicated to giving back to her communities and empowering individuals to reach their full potential.

Gratitude abounds, Governor Philip Murphy and Lieutenant Governor Way, for entrusting me with this remarkable opportunity.

“I eagerly anticipate collaborating with Commission Co-Chairs Peggy Anastos and Jose Lozano, as well as the distinguished professionals who dedicate their expertise as Commissioners to the New Jersey Puerto Rico Commission” - Ariana.
